The geography and landscape of Karnataka are such that it offers an ideal place for enthusiastic tourist. It is located between Western Ghats, Deccan Plateau, and Kannad Coast. It is considered to be home to various forests, beaches, waterfalls, coffee plantations, and lakes.

It also boasts historically significant monuments and structures that attract visitors from all parts of the world. It has many places for tourist to explore.

Below are the places which you need to visit at any cost when you plan for a visit to Karnataka.

Karnataka Tourism: Mysore

 It is about 139 km from Bangalore. It offers you dazzling royal heritage and intricate architecture. It is famous for its silk sarees, yoga, and sandalwood

It has several interesting places to visit such as palaces, museums, temples, gardens, etc. Mysore Palace, Chamundi Hill Temple, Mysore Zoo are considered as some of the most famous places to visit in Mysore. Srirangapatna and Brindavan Gardens are also major attractions close to Mysore.

Mysore Dussera is celebrated to symbolize the victory of good over evil. The month-long Dussera celebrations, with their colorful processions, fireworks, and the beautifully lighted palace, give an enchanting look to the city.

 Although Mysore has pleasant weather throughout the year it would be great to visit this place from October to March. On average it will take you 2 full days to visit the important places in Mysore.

Karnataka Tourism: Chikmagalur

Chikmagalur or Chikkamagaluru is a scenic hill town situated at the foothills of the Mulliyangiri range. It is one of the best hill stations to spend some quality time with your family. It is famous for its tranquil environment, lush green forests, and tall mountains

 It is also famous for its coffee and is known as the coffee land of Karnataka. For the first time, coffee was cultivated in India at this place. In 1670, a Muslim saint named Baba Budan, a Muslim saint brought coffee seeds from Yemen. Later on, when the Europeans came to India, they took over the business of plantation of Coffee and started trading it. Chikmagalur is a perfect mix blend for tourists to visit from pilgrimage sites to coffee plantations. From wildlife tourism to adventure sports destinations.

Hampi is also called Pampa-kshetra, Kishkindha-kshetra, or Bhaskara-kshetra, it has derived its name from Pampa, which is the old name of the Tungabhadra River. Some of the temples which are must to include in your list is Virupaksha Temple, Vittala Temple, and Hampi.

Hampi finds a very important place in the chapters of history and architecture. The first civilization in Hampi dates back to the 1st century AD and many Buddhist sites belonging to that time. The most important festival celebrated here is the Hampi Festival which is held for 3 days in November. It is organized by the Government of Karnataka where you get to see dance, music, drama, and processions. It is a complete package for entertainment. You can plan to visit Hampi from October to March

It is famously called the Garden City of India and is also the capital city of Karnataka. It has become the hub in many areas such as industrial and commercial centers in India in the areas of aerospace, electronics, defense, and mainly software services.

It is often referred to as the Silicon Valley of India due to the large number of software companies established in the city. There are several places in Bangalore where you can plan your visit many places such as palaces, gardens, museums, temples, etc. ISKCON Temple and Bull Temple are quite famous among tourists.

Karnataka Tourism: Udupi

Udupi is not only famous for its pilgrimage sites but it is also known for its beautiful beaches. It is located between the grassy mountains on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other side. Udupi is also famous for its wonderful beaches which include Malpe Beach, Kaup Beach & St. Mary’s Island. The main language spoken in this region is Tulu.

The name Udupi is synonymous with Udupi cuisine that is served all over India in the Udupi restaurants which are famous for their dosas, idlis, and other snacks. You will be surprised to hear that the actual 

the tradition of this cuisine had started in the kitchens of the Krishna Temple which serve meals to his devotees in the form of prasad who come here to pray.  The most popular festival celebrated here is the Paryaya festival which is held every alternate year. This festival is organized on January 18 and attracts a large number of devotees. During this period the roads are filled with chariots that display various cultural shows such as folk dances and religious hymns.

Karnataka is indeed a great place that has to be included in your list of places to visit on your next vacation.
