Good News for Air Travelers as Flights Between India And UK To Resume From January 6. Yes, As we all are aware of the New Coronavirus Strain found in many countries like UK, Denmark, South Africa. This led to cancellation of Air travel services between these countries. Air travel was banned in India from December 21, after the Centre imposed the ban on flights between UK and India to fight against the new Coronavirus strain. This was said to 70% more effective.
Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced and tweeted that the Air Travel Ban will be revoked and the flights between India and UK will resume from January 6 2021. Currently 30 flights will be operating every week till 23 Jan and will be further reviewed.
The airlines, In a press release, said, “All the passengers had been contacted on December 22 and their booked flights were rescheduled. Today after the announcement, SMS messages and mails have gone to the passengers informing them of the rescheduled date of travel. The passengers who booked their flight on December 23 will be accommodated in the first flight out.”
Flights Between India and Saudi Arabia
Many Indians stranded in Saudi Arabia also tweeted with requests to start the Air Travel between India and Saudi Arabia, Many even vented frustration on twitter as they are left out with out jobs due to the pandemic.
Air India tweeted, replying “They are ready to fly to these countries once the restrictions are revoked from Saudi Arabia and other countries who have not signed Air Bubble Arrangements.”
