Due to “misinformation causing concern” WhatsApp Postpones Privacy Update Plan.
According to a tweet from WhatsApp “our privacy policy update does not affect the privacy of your message with friends and family. Learn more about how we protect your privacy as well as what we do not share with Facebook”. A clear public clarification was issued by the company on what data process over to Facebook.
WhatsApp shares mobile information like OS, phone model, IP address, coarse location, language, cellular data, transactions, and payment data. This is actually a significant amount of data exposed to Facebook and when it comes to privacy it is at the forefront for most users.
The privacy policy was earlier to come into force from 8 February. It had prompted users to look at switching privacy-first platforms like signal and telegram. There were many rumors that the person who will not accept the privacy policy their accounts would be deleted automatically.
WhatsApp Postpones Privacy Update Plan
Recently WhatsApp stated that the account will not be suspended and users would be given a chance to review and accept the terms and conditions of the app. Now more time would be provided to people to change their Facebook-owned messaging app. The time for analysis and assessment for terms of the app has been extended till May 15.
According to WhatsApp, they heard many confusions and rumors regarding their privacy policy update. They just want everyone should understand their principles and facts. The main idea of launching. WhatsApp was to share information with friends and family and to make this small work easy and efficient.
The long mails or letters would take a long time in this generation. WhatsApp protects our personal conversations with end to end encryption. None has the right to see private messages. So, WhatsApp does not keep the information regarding who everyone is texting or calling. The location and the contacts of people are also not been shared with Facebook. All these issues remain the same now and will not expand WhatsApp’s ability to share information and data with Facebook.
The change has been made for the people who have a business WhatsApp account. The people just have to message a business on WhatsApp and provide transparency about how they collect data and use it. WhatsApp does not show third party ads on the services. They have no intention to introduce them.

According to the New York Times after the privacy update from WhatsApp many social media outlets, platforms, and users as well have mistakenly interpreted the notification as a transfer in WhatsApp’s data-sharing practices. People believed that the company could now read people’s conversations and other personal data. As a result of such big havoc, Signal became the number one used app in India one of WhatsApp’s biggest markets and trader on apple and android phones.
The company believes that after this latest news of postponing that privacy update people will choose to shop with a business on WhatsApp in the future. The company wants to spread awareness regarding its policy, terms, and conditions by May 15.
What happens after May 15
The company is now spreading awareness regarding its terms and conditions. Soon we need to click the checkboxes and agree to the privacy. The company has given people more time till May 15. If anyone will not agree to the terms and conditions then WhatsApp will delete their account or suspend it.
Once the account is deleted we need to download the app from the play store. Once the app is installed we then would agree to the terms and conditions of the app. Then the app would work but the previous contacts and groups made on the app would have vanished. The app would start from the very beginning. So, spread awareness regarding the company’s policy and save your data and contact information.
