1) We can use more than one number
User can easily change your attached phone number with your account without losing any of chats or contacts. Telegram does not keep any tension on you for transferring data and contacts.
To change number in telegram, open the left menu, open settings, select the phone number option under your account, choose change number option and follow the given instructions.
This feature just moves all your messages and other media files to your new mobile number. Telegram by default add your new phone number for all your previous contacts.
Also telegram has the feature to add second number instead of transfer. Telegram also allows you to use multiple accounts. On left sidebar select contact info to expand account switcher then choose add account.
2) Upload multiple Display pictures
Telegram allows you to upload multiple profile pictures. While the latest picture will be visible first when it is swiped, they can see remaining pictures.
To upload profile picture open settings and select camera icon, here you can take a picture or upload an existing one, search in web for image or you can remove current picture.
3. Secret Chats
In telegram regular messages are saved default in telegram servers which can be read by telegram to investigate the spam users. Your messages are stored for 12 months in telegram servers.
For privacy one can use secret chats that are encrypted by end-to-end encryption. Secret chats will be between you and person you chat. This type of chart can access by only with your phone. If anyone deletes the message in chat the message gets disappear in both the devices. All there is self-deleting message option in a particular period.
To start secret chat. Tap on bar of user information> tap on three doted top-down bars on the top right>select secret chat option. A pop message will ask your conformation. Tap on start it sends your contact invitation for secret chat.
4) Customize your new telegram background look:
Telegram allows you to set own background colors. You can even keep your own theme. To set a theme got to settings>then chat settings on Android or appearance on iOS. Here you can change the font size of the text and enable night mode. Choose chat background to adjust a new wallpaper for your chats.
To create own theme, click on 3-dot on android or plus in iOS button at top right corner and select choose to create new theme. You can make your own personalized look.
7) Mute option
In telegram you have access to mute personal chats and group chats. In Android click 3-dot menu in top right of telegram chat and choose mute notification. In iOS click the contact or group which you wanted to mute, at the top of the screen mute option is available. You can mute chat for an hour or eight or days or forever.
8) Live location and proximity alerts
Just like WhatsApp telegram allows you to share live location option. Live location allows you to track the sender’s real time location for set of time which is selected. You can set proximity alerts with your friends and family members. These alerts you when your friend gets within 50 meters radius.
To use live location and proximity alerts. Go to contact’s chat which you need to share location. Tap on paperclip icon. Choose location share option and choose “share my live location”. You can share live location for 15 minutes, 1hour or 8 hours. Proximity alert will be at top right corner in the chat.
9) Schedule and silent messages
Telegram has the option to schedule your message to be sent at a particular time. Here you can even send silent messages if you do not want to disturb the receiver.
To schedule and silent the message simply types the message you wanted to send and long press the send button then it shows you the schedule and silent message option.
10) Edit pictures while sending
If you sent an image without editing or adding filter or wanted to highlight text, or you have sent a wrong image telegram helps with its features to edit or replace even if you sent it to the friend.
To do this long-press on image you have sent. Choose edit option on to, it is just like you edit a text message. Now you get a photo editor here you can add filters, draw, or crop picture. And you can replace the picture and send another one in its place.
11) Save chat in selected folders
Telegram allows you to select which folder to save your chat. You can select chat to store and leave other if it is not necessary.
To enable this, go to telegram settings and choose folder. Here you can create so many folders as you want and personal chats or groups as well as channels to selected folder.
12) Unlimited cloud storage
Telegram has provided personal saved messages space for each user. This option is at left side menu on homepage. Users here can save important messages which will be backed up to telegram’s secure cloud source just like the chats. The saved messages are accessible with any device where your account is logged in.
13) Group voice chats
Telegram introduced a feature of group voice chats which allows users to start a common group voice chat with all members. User can drop out or add into the call at any time in the call.
To start group voice chat, go to any group you wanted to have chat and tap on the group name. Now select 3-dot menu on top right and choose the option start voice chat.
14) Video editing with color correction
Telegram has the feature to edit the images and videos before sending it. The edit is not just basic like crop and something etc. The edit is with complete advanced option like RGB (red, green, blue) which lets you to correct the color your video in real-time. You can even adjust saturation, contrast, exposure and more.
To edit select a video that need to be send and you can find the options to crop, tune and add elements and other options.
15) Proxy servers
Telegram widely supports proxy servers which allows the user to hide their IP address just by connecting proxy server. This works just like VPN. Proxy is not as secure as VPN it has the upper hand of not taking a toll on your internet speed.
To enable proxy server, go to settings and choose data and storage. Scroll down till you find the proxy settings option. Turn it on and enter server’s details.
16) Slow mode in chats
Telegram has exclusive option which slow mode in groups. Because of this option users can send messages as per set amount of time. For example, if you set 30 seconds all users in the group can send one a message for every 30 seconds.
This feature is very useful for the groups with huge members. To enable this, go to the concerned group and tap on group name and choose edit icon which is in shape of pencil. Go to permissions and you can find slow mode setting at bottom of the page.
17) Polls and Quizzes
You can conduct polls and quizzes in telegram polls if you are the admin. These works like twitter poll. One can setup anonymous or visible polls. You can set up the poll and quizzes where the answer is only one.
To setup poll in telegram group go into the concerned group and open the attach icon (shape like paper clip). Here you can see poll option when you scroll down.
