Menstrual cramps normally last for about 2- 3 consecutive days and in some cases, they go for 6-7 days or more. To avoid this pain when it becomes unbearable, they decide to go for medication. If you have this problem at a vast level then it is okay to go for medicines but that too not excessive.

When females find comfort with medicines they make it a habit, which shouldn’t happen as it may be providing comfort at present but it can be a problem in the future, it may lead to a damaged uterus and cause some serious complications in pregnancy or something. So, to avoid such hazardous risks, try to do things at home only and if you follow them properly then you could see the difference.

There are several ways to get rid of the menstrual cramp:

  • Exercise everyday and indulge in physical activities that don’t mean that strength training even walking or brisk walking is enough which improves blood circulation in your body and reduces exhaustion.
  • Inhaling and exhaling practices and yoga exercises will soothe your mind if you feel severe pain during your menstrual phase it means your body is dehydrated and dry, during the phase women should avoid regular infusion of coffee, tea, and extreme desire for junk foods.
  • Everyday massage your lower stomach area with oil for at least 5 mins and don’t forget to massage your head too because it gives relief from stress and anxiety which helps to calm your mind. Massaging the feet will also help to diminish the pain.
  • Drink more water, and increase the consumption of leafy vegetables which adds more calcium to your diet. Dark chocolates are said to be effective in avoiding these cramps.

Do these things and take the above precaution, during your menstruation period and see the result by yourself and avoid the pills to kill the pain.

What Is Menstruation?

Menstruation is a woman’s monthly bleeding, often called your “period.” When you menstruate, your body discards the monthly buildup of the lining of your uterus (womb). Menstrual blood and tissue flow from your uterus through the small opening in your cervix and pass out of your body through your vagina.

During the monthly menstrual cycle, the uterus lining builds up to prepare for pregnancy. If you do not get pregnant, estrogen and progesterone hormone levels begin falling. Very low levels of estrogen and progesterone tell your body to begin menstruation.

What is the menstrual cycle?

The menstrual cycle is the monthly hormonal cycle a female’s body goes through to prepare for pregnancy. Your menstrual cycle is counted from the first day of your period up to the first day of your next period. Your hormone levels (estrogen and progesterone) usually change throughout the menstrual cycle and can cause menstrual symptoms.

How long is a typical menstrual cycle?

The typical menstrual cycle is 28 days long, but each woman is different.2 Also, a woman’s menstrual cycle length might be different from month-to-month. Your periods are still “regular” if they usually come every 24 to 38 days.3 This means that the time from the first day of your last period up to the start of your next period is at least 24 days but not more than 38 days.

Some women’s periods are so regular that they can predict the day and time that their periods will start. Other women are regular but can only predict the start of their period within a few days.
