Covid19 Vaccination Process and download the covid-19 certificate
As Union Minister Prakash Javadekar announced that after 1st April the age of people who are above 45 will be available to take a vaccine against novel coronavirus. You can register on the C0-WIN Portal and schedule your vaccination appointment. You can search for the nearest vaccination center in your city and go for the vaccination process.
After taking the 1st dose of your vaccine You have to take an appointment for the 2nd dose vaccination. The Co-WIN system will help you book an appointment in a Vaccination Centre where the same vaccine is being administered as the vaccine type (COVAXINE or COVISHEILD) of the 1st dose.
Who are eligible for the vaccination process?
The covid-19 vaccination process is divided into three phases initially it will be provided to the priority group- Health Care and Front-line workers then different age groups.
At present all citizens of above 60 years and the citizen between 45 to 59 years of age with one of the specified comorbidities can register for vaccination process after recording confirmation of any specified comorbid condition.
You need to bring a medical certificate from any registered medical practitioner at the time of vaccination, which will be verified and uploaded at the vaccination center.
Here is the List of comorbidities for citizens over 45 years of age
a. Heart Failure with hospital admission in the past one year
b. Post Cardiac Transplant/Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD)
c. Significant Left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVEF <40%)
d. Moderate or Severe Valvular Heart Disease
e. Congenital heart disease with severe PAH or Idiopathic PAH
f. Coronary Artery Disease with past CABG/PTCA/MI AND Hypertension/Diabetes on treatment
g. Angina AND Hypertension/Diabetes on treatment
h. CT/MRI documented stroke AND Hypertension/Diabetes on treatment
i. Pulmonary artery hypertension AND Hypertension/Diabetes on treatment
j. Diabetes (> 10 years OR with complications) AND Hypertension on treatment
k. Kidney/ Liver/ Hematopoietic stem cell transplant: Recipient/On the waitlist
l. End-Stage Kidney Disease on hemodialysis/ CAPD
m. Current extended use of oral corticosteroids/ immunosuppressant medications
n. Decompensated cirrhosis
o. Severe respiratory disease with hospitalizations in the last two years/FEV1 < 50%
p. Lymphoma/ Leukemia/ Myeloma
q. Diagnosis of any solid cancer on or after 1st July 2020 OR currently on any under cancer therapy
r. Sickle Cell Disease/ Bone marrow failure/ Aplastic Anemia/ Thalassemia Major
s. Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases/ HIV infection
t. Persons suffering with disabilities condition due to Intellectual disabilities/ Muscular Dystrophy/ Acid attack with involvement of respiratory system/ Persons with disabilities having high support needs/ Multiple disabilities including deaf-blindness.

How to download the covid-19 certificate
After taking the first dose of covid-19 vaccine a provisional certificate would be provided to you and after completion of 2nd dose, it would send a link to download a digital certificate of vaccination on your mobile number. After opening the link, it will redirect you to the official website and after entering your Beneficiary Reference Id you can download the certificate.
A Vaccination certificate is a verifiable proof of vaccination that you can use to establish that you have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus vaccine.
You can receive the certificate at the vaccination center they are responsible for generating your certificate and for providing a printed copy post- vaccination on the day of the vaccine itself. For private hospitals, the charges to provide a printed copy of the certificate are included in the service charge up to Rs. 250 per dose for the vaccine.
Other ways to download the certificate online
You can download a vaccination certificate from the Co-WIN portal or the Aarogya Setu app or through Digi-Locker by following the simple steps. You may do so by using the registered mobile number used at the time of registration process for vaccination.
You will have required a Beneficiary Reference Id which you receive at the time of registration and a mobile number.
Using the Aarogya Setu App
If you registered your vaccination appointment through the Aarogya Setu app then only you can download the certificate through the app.
- Update the app to its latest version and open the app.

- Tap on the CoWIN menu and proceed with the vaccination certificate menu.

- After that enter your beneficiary Reference Id and tap on the search button once you find the certificate you will be able to download it to your smartphone.
Using the Digi Locker app
- Download the Digi Locker app from the play store.

- Complete the signup process for the Digi Locker app providing details of your Aadhar Card and mobile number.
- After that tap on the issued documents section and in the Health Section, tap on the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Section.

- You will see a Covid Vaccine Certificate and after entering your Beneficiary Id, you can download your certificate.
Using CoWIN official website
If you are registered through the CoWIN official website, then you can download the certificate through the official website too.
- Go to the official website Cowin Portal.
- Click on the register/ sign in yourself option.
- After providing your mobile number you will receive an OTP and after entering OTP, click on verify tab you will get details of your vaccination report and you can download it to your smartphone.
Aarogya Setu app has also been integrated with India’s first vaccination CoWIN app, you can download the certificate through CoWIN app too.
