History Of Chicken Korma

Chicken korma is a dish of Indian origin that is believed to have originated in the Mughal Empire during the 16th century. The dish is made with chicken, yogurt, cream, ghee, and spices such as cardamom, coriander, cumin, and cinnamon. It is a mild, creamy curry that is usually served with basmati rice and nan bread.

The term “korma” is derived from the Persian word “kurma” which means “braised”. The dish was popularized during the Mughal period by the Mughal Emperor Akbar, who is credited as the creator of the dish.

The dish has since spread to other parts of India and has become a popular dish in other countries as well. In Pakistan, it is known as “murgh korma” and in Bangladesh, it is known as “korma bhuna.” In the United States, it is often referred to as “curry chicken” or “chicken tikka masala.”

Chicken korma is a relatively simple dish to prepare, and the ingredients are usually readily available in most grocery stores. The chicken is cooked in a yogurt-based sauce and simmered until it is tender. The dish is usually served with basmati rice and nan bread.

Chicken korma is a delicious and flavorful dish that is perfect for special occasions or when you want to serve something a little bit different. It is a great way to introduce Indian food to your family and friends.
