The availability of the vegetable increases during the winter season. We get fresh vegetables every day Cabbage is one among them. Cabbage is one of those vegetables which is cheap, super healthy, and filling. Although it is available in the market throughout the year, the best quality cabbages are sold only during the winter season.

You can make various dishes through these green leafy vegetables. However, we often waste a large portion of cabbage by peeling off its upper layers and throwing them in the dustbin. But let me tell you that a lot of dishes can be made out of Cabbage if it is used properly. This will not only increase the variety of dishes that you make but will also save you some money.

Do you also love Spring rolls! And why not, they satisfy our taste buds like no other food. But, the pastry of spring roll soak too much oil, making it greasy and unhealthy. So what you can do is take the leftover cabbage leaf, and replace it with spring roll pastry for a healthy twist. To get rid of any germ, bacteria, or tiny insect, you will have to clean the leaves in boiling water. For thorough cleaning, you can also add some salt to it. Binding cabbage leaves is not going to be as easy as rolling spring roll pastry for you. But it is worth all your efforts. You can cut long strips of cabbage leaf to make it edible strings so that it can bind the rolls or you can also try applying rice flour with a water mixture so that the ends get the stick.

Cabbage slaw makes a great topping for barbecue tofu or tempeh sandwiches; You can add about a cup of shredded cabbage with a tablespoon each of apple cider vinegar and olive oil, add some pinch of sugar, and salt. To enhance the taste add some pepper to it. You can also add freshly squeezed lime juice, sliced green onions, shredded carrots, and cilantro.

Roughly chop half a head of cabbage and add 2 tablespoons of tamari or soy sauce, 1 teaspoon each of rice vinegar, honey, and toasted sesame oil, and a minced clove of garlic. Heat a large skillet or wok to medium-high, then swirl it with oil to coat. Add the cabbage and a handful of raw cashews and started cooking it for about 5 minutes until the cabbage is almost tender. Pour the sauce into the skillet and keep cooking for some more for 2-3 minutes until you see that the cabbage has become soft and the sauce has reduced a bit. If you are planning to serve this over rice or quinoa, then you can double the sauce.

Everything tastes better once you roast them and cabbage is no exception. You can cut cabbage into 1-inch thick slices, Apply olive or grape seed oil on both sides, and spray them with salt, pepper, and a few sprinkles of Italian seasoning. Then Put the cabbage slices on a baking sheet, and roast them at 400ºF for 30-40 minutes, keep flipping them while they get cooked. Once they turn tender in the middle and browned and crispy on the edges, the dish gets ready.

This is a fast and easy stir fry with a tangy sauce and plenty of vegetables, this is a fast and easy stir fry. Cabbage is great for stir fry because its hard form always stays crisp and hence provides plenty of texture to the dish.
