Kiwi fruit or often called Kiwi is a brown fuzzy fruit that has a sweet and vaguely tangy taste. It has green flesh with thin, fibrous, and light brown skin and very small but edible seeds. It has almost 60 types. Among them, the most commonly sold are Fuzzy Kiwifruit, Golden Kiwifruit, Chinese egg gooseberry, Purple Kiwifruit, etc.

The above- given chart is giving you all answers. If we talk about energy then the Green Kiwifruit will provide us 255KJ per 100g which is more than orange, apple, strawberries, etc.In the category of carbohydrates, Green Kiwifruit provides us more than that of apple, orange, strawberries.

If we talk about fiber then Green Kiwifruit is ruling on all other fruits, having 3.39g of fiber content and have a good amount of Vitamin C, Folate, Potassium, Copper, etc. as compared to other Apple, Orange, Banana, Strawberries, and Blueberries.

If I refer to the above-given chart then we will find that Golden Kiwifruit has more Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Potassium, Folate, and Copper than Green Kiwifruit but there is a very minute difference and if we compare Vitamin k then the Green Kiwifruit leads with a much larger difference.

We often peel the kiwi and eat its flesh only because that Brown Fibrous part is without any taste or I should say it disturbs the taste. But this is the mistake we often did while eating Kiwi because studies prove that dark brown skin also has a good nutritional value which can help us to fight from many diseases. So, next time when we will eat Kiwi, we will remember not to peel it and eat it with its skin.

If I particularly talk about Punjab then the ZESPRI Kiwi’s cost is Rs35 per piece which is very costly as compared to other fruits. The reason behind this costly price is their production. Most of the production occurs in China and New Zealand. China’s production is equal to half of the world’s produce (approximately). So, when it comes to India the travelling charges, storage charges, etc. are added that’s why in India the kiwi has such large price.

1. Boost Our Immune System

We now know that Kiwi is full of nutrients and vitamins and it is interesting to note that 1 cup of kiwi provides us 273 percent of the recommended value of vitamins.

When there is talk of boosting the immune system then citrus fruits like grapes, oranges, lemons, etc. always come first because citrus fruits contain vitamin C which is very important for boosting our immune system and to ward off most diseases.

Now, if you read the above-given chart then there is no need of mine to tell you that Kiwi is full of Vitamin C, in fact, more than orange.

2. Improves Digestion And Prevent Constipation

After eating a big meal or meat, fish (which often cause bloating), it is advised to eat a kiwi. Kiwi contains enzymes and actinide which help enzymes present in our gut to breakdown proteins and due to high fiber content it helps to prevent constipation and improves digestion.

3. Helpful For Patient Of High B.P.

Kiwi helps to reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure and also helps to prevent heart-related diseases like heart stroke and attack. The reason behind it is that reduces the level of harmful LDL cholesterol in the blood due to the presence of antioxidants and lutein. Vitamin C also helps to reduce blood pressure.

4. Protect Against Anemia

Anemia is the disease when our body faces a deficiency of Red blood cells (RBC) and these cells are made up of hemoglobin and hemoglobin is made up from Iron. If we deduct the Iron deficiency then ultimately there is no presence of anemia. We can deduct this iron deficiency by eating fruits that have high Vitamin C and we know kiwi the king of fruits in having Vitamin C.

5. Beneficial For Skin And Hair

Skin will be healthy and there will be no hair loss if our body has the required amount of collagen because collagen helps in forming new skin cells and shedding old skin cells and Vitamin C of Kiwi is a key component in synthesizing collagen. Kiwi also helps to keep skin cells hydrated and fight pimples and acne.

Kiwifruit which is often rejected by the middle-class family of India due to its high price is beyond comparison to other fruits. One piece of Kiwi completes our daily nutrient requirement. The name “Super Food” given to it, is complete justice with this extraordinary fruit.

We should not confuse between Golden kiwifruit and Green kiwifruit, as none of them can be categorized as more beneficial than others. Kiwifruit helps to reduce B.P., boosts our immune system, protects against anemia, and beneficial for skin and hair.
