Garlic naan is can be said a stellar recipe that comes with the heavenly goodness of diabetic-friendly foods. As shown in the studies. Garlic been proved to improve glucose tolerance in people with diabetes and lower cholesterol and blood glucose levels.
First of all, we have to grind about twenty garlic cloves into a fine paste. After that we will chop the remaining cloves finely. And will keep it aside for a while.
We will go for Sieving of the flour now. We will leave some of it aside for dusting. Make the mixture with the sodium bicarbonate and common salt in a medium bowl.
We will now add some milk, sugar, yogurt, garlic paste, chopped garlic with the chopped coriander leaves into the flour mixture. After that its time to mix it roughly. Now we will add some amount of the water sufficiently required to knead the flour into a medium soft dough. We will apply given amount of the oil to it. Now we have to cover the dough with a damp cloth and need to set the dough aside for at least about 60 minutes.
To make the dough soft and pliable, you can punch the dough in your style. This will take few minutes only.
As we have made the dough smooth, we have to divide the dough into twelve to sixteen equal portions. And one more thing you might get angry on me is to cover the dough and set it for the rest for about an hour more. But believe me it is worth it.
Melt the given amount of the butter mentioned in a pan. Take this melted butter in a bowl. If you remember the previous twelve to sixteen dough bowls, then here is the step to use them. Now we will flatten each dough ball of them between the both palms and will apply the recently melted butter and dust kept aside previously with flour.
We will now roll the flattened dough into a ball again. That seems unusual but we have to do it. And you have to cover it at least for fifteen minutes. Simultaneously we will make the oven preheat the oven to 250°C temperature.
Getting ready to the final step, we have to roll each dough ball now on a floured surface (completely flat surface with flour) into the approximately six-inch diameter disc (or we can call naan or roti). Pull the flattened disk from one end to make its elongated shape as naan has.
After that Cook the naan made recently in the previously preheated oven at 250°C for about seven minutes at least. Naan can also be cooked in a tandoor. In tandoor you have to cook it till brown spots appear on the surface of the naan.
After cooking take out the naan out of the oven or tandoor. And serve it with hot drizzled sauce or cream with the melted butter.
So, this was the healthy recipe to deal with the diabetes and your taste buds. Hope you liked Diabetic-Friendly Home Made Garlic Naan.
