Varieties Of Jalebis: Jalebi, when we hear its name the there is expected desire in the mouth for the delicious and sweet jalebis. The jalebi as everyone knows is round and sweet with a yellow to orange color. But do you know that there are various types and varieties of the jalebi too? Let’s have a look at them.

Khoya jalebi is one of the types of jalebi prepared in India. It is famous mostly in the Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur region. It is a specialty there. The khoya jalebi is made up of evaporated milk and Maida. The khoya is found in many Indian dishes. These round jalebis are topped with malai or cold milk. The taste is sweet obviously. They are found in the dessert at Madhya Pradesh. Khoya Jalebi is a must if you go on a trip to Jabalpur.

It is called imarti, omrti, etc. also. But there is little difference between imarti and jangiri. But one can’t spot the difference easily. Jangiri is made up of urad dal. The taste is different from the other jalebi. It has originated in north India. Somewhat crispy too. The jalebi is a pleasure to eat. It can be a healthier option for you than the normal jalebi. Aloo Ki jalebi exactly means jalebi made from potato. I know this seems different. But this type of jalebi exists in India. Aloo jalebi is lightweight and crispy and tasty. It is made up of boiled potatoes. Along with boiled potatoes, there is Maida, ghee, curd, sugar, cardamom. These jalebis are somewhat dense than the normal jalebis. And it is famous in Gurugram. You must have this type of jalebi if you are a jalebi lover. It tastes great after the addition of chat masala.

From the name you can imagine that the jaleba will be somewhat bigger than jalebi. Jaleba is heavier and bigger than normal jalebi. It weighs about 250 grams or sometimes 500mg. In the north region of India, imarti is famous. Imarti is another type of jalebi. The content of imarti is the same as that of the jangiri. But the thing that differs is the method of cooking. The content is urad dal, saffron, and cornflour. Another difference you can spot is that imarti can also be served as cold. It can taste better when it is cold. The jalebi must be served hot but the imarti can be served cold.
