Fact Check or Fact-checking is a process in which an individual or group checks the information whether its facts or fake, that they saw or got from someone. This is a very important thing to do because it may create several problems in the long run. The spread of misconception is very easy and harmful.
So what is Fact Check?
A Nobel Prized psychologist once said “WYSIATI”. What you see is all there is, it means we only see what is shown to us and not what is hidden behind it.
We only rely on information that we can see in front of us and not what is hidden. And after watching it we trust them and spread the same forward. This is what most damages.
Work of fact-checking is to provide proper and true information about something or someone. The work of newspapers or journalist is to provide correct and true information in daily life but one modified for their benefit and purpose. Social media is now grown and people now are more aware of what can be true and whatnot. Social media users also have removed our journalism the tag of truth-tellers. And they call them by different names like news sellers or fake reporters and they don’t trust what a new channel or paper shows.

Social media users now verify the information and believe only when true. And this needed to be done a long time ago so we could have stopped many destructions from happening. So what is the difference between fact and opinions is, opinion is made from a provided fact can be changed as one’s personal preference apart from this they can deny and save by saying it was my own opinion.
These wrong influencers have also grown themselves and now provides fakeness with stronger and more efficient way. The way they impact people and then the include “how can these many people be wrong?” and they try to make their opinion a fact.
So in recent years, fast checking has been turned a must-do a thing and this can also be seen by the growth and establishment of fact-checking organizations all around the world. These fact-checking organizations checks and verifies a fact or information that is spreading fast and if it is wrong or fake they try to stop them as soon as possible so only true and right information can reach us.
Fact-checking is of no use for the one who ignores it and trusts the information blindly and this damages our and his society and mentality. But how can we surrender ourself to the world full of fake news and hungry for fame and name?
Fact-checking can lead us to a very truthful path that won’t damage the society and help us to know what true thing is and not knowing what is wrong. Anyone who gets the information about something or a forwarded message should always verify it from google or other preferred places just to be sure that the news that one is sending is true and won’t harm society or mentality or with any other thing.
Fact-checking communities are now spreading all around the world very aggressively just to make sure no fake news or hatred spreads around the world and among people. Being a good citizen of society I always check the facts and news I send to someone. And this should be everyone’s habit to check the news we send and news we spread because it can be beneficial to someone but it can harm the society in many ways to. We should never consider the hatred or provoking messages and should also try to stop them from spreading.
Effects of Fake News
Fake news can be very damaging as it may spread hatred about inter-caste and inter-religion and may cause a clash between people for no reasons and that may cause national issue anytime. Clashes between political parties or a group can also take place due to this misunderstanding caused by fake news. Overall they are more damaging than one could, be aware of and think of. But with some care and alertness, we can stop this news from spreading and we could also check and stop the hatred from being spread among people.
Government and fact-checking organizations are doing their jobs and people are also aware of things but apart from government and the organizations, we all need to be alert and careful with the information we get and share.
Being alert and checking facts before spreading can make a healthy society where one can raise their child better and can also live a happy peaceful life. The spreader wants us to fight and separate and then listen to what he or she says but with being a bit smart we can stop their intensions from harming our environment. And we all will live a healthy and good life with truth and real facts so always check the facts and information you get and share.
