India is prominent for the great leaders, there were and are several leaders who did good for the nation with no selfish interest. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is one of them and to honour him, India commemorates his birth anniversary on the 31st of October. This day was marked by the Indian government as Rashtriya Ekta Divas ( National Unity Day ) in 2014.
The authorized announcement for National Unity Day by the Home Ministry of India illustrates that the National Unity Day “will provide an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity,y, and security of our country.”
In 2018 the holiday was enjoyed in Gujarat with the devotion of the Statue of Unity, which praises and characterizes Patel. It is the hugest sculpture in presence for now. The Statue of Unity is an enormous sculpture of Indian legislator and freedom activist Vallabhbhai Patel (1875–1950), who was the initial Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of free India and supporter of Mahatma Gandhi during the non-violent Indian Independence movement.
Patel was greatly admired and respected for his leadership in unifying 562 stately states of India with a crucial part of the past British Raj to establish the sole Union of India.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is known as the Ironman of India and he is captioned with the unity word because he played a vital role in uniting the Nation. He functioned as Home Minister at the time of the political integration of India and the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. His obligation to national integration in the newly free nation was full and authoritarian, attaining him the nickname “Iron Man of India”.
Happy National Unity Day!
