Here are the important and upcoming National and International days celebrated in the month of March. The 3rd month of the year has some special days and events like Wildlife Day, Water Day, Forest Day, Women’s Day and So on.

 So lets have a look on all the days and events falling in month of March

March 1 – World Civil Defence Day And Zero Discrimination Day

March 1st is celebrated as World Civil Defence Day to create and make awareness for Importance Of Civil Protection. The theme for this year World Civil Defence Day 2021 was “Civil Defence and a first aider in every home.” 

March 1st is also celebrated as Zero Discrimination Day started by United Nations. The first day was celebrated on March 1, 2014

March 3 – World Wildlife Day | World Hearing Day

World Wildlife Day is celebrated on 3rd March every year to raise awareness for the wildlife in this world. The theme for 2021 was “Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet”. This was to “highlight the central role of forests, forest species and ecosystems services in sustaining the livelihoods of hundreds of millions of people globally.” stated wildlifeday.org website.

3rd March is also celebrated to create awareness on prevention of deafness and promote hearing. The theme for World Hearing Day 2021 was ‘Hearing care for ALL! Screen. Rehabilitate. Communicate’.

March 4 – National Safety Day

National Safety Day is celebrated from 4th March in India. This years theme for Safety Week was “Learn from Disaster and Prepare for a Safer Future”. This years National Safety Day also marked the 50th National Safety Day. This is generally celebrated from 4th March to 10th March. It was first started on 4th March 1972.

March 8 – International Women’s Day

March 8th is celebrated as International Women’s Day. This years theme by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for 2021 was ‘Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.’

March 10 – CISF Raising Day

March 16 – National Vaccination Day

March 16 is marked and celebrated as National Immunization Day in India. This was started from 16th March 1995 during Oral Vaccine program. This day is celebrated to create awareness of the Vaccination programs.

March 21 – World Forestry Day

World Forestry Day is celebrated every year on March 21 to create awareness about forest and its contribution for the balance on Life Cycle for all beings in this world. It was started first in 1971 by European Confederation of Agriculture.

March 22- World Water Day

March 22 is celebrated as World Water Day, for creating awareness of water issues around the world. This year theme for the World Water Day is “Valuing Water”.

March 23 – World Meteorological Day

World Meteorological Day is marked on March 23rd every year. This day is celebrated to raise awareness for safety and wellbeing of the society.

March 24 – World Tuberculosis Day

World Tuberculosis (TB) Day is celebrated on March 24 to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of TB. This years theme of World TB Day 2021 is very serious theme. Its ‘The Clock is Ticking’ . This itself gives a warning to everyone that we are running out time and everyone must work together in eradicating this and make a healthy society.

March 28 – Shab E Barat

Shab e Barat is celebrated on March 28th by all Muslims. It is also known as Laylat al-Baraa’ah is celebrated as Night of Forgiveness. This is on 15th Shabaan, the 8th month of Islamic Calendar.

March 29 – Holi

Holi is the festival of colors or festival of love. It is celebrated at the full moon day of March. This festival spread colors to gain lots of positivity. People celebrate this festival with full of joy and enthusiasm with their friends and family and also light up bonfire. It is believed that it creates a triumph of good over the bad.
