10. Panga – ₹41.71 crore
Panga, starring Kangana Ranaut and Jassi Gill in the lead role was released on 24th of Jan 2020. Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Panga earned ₹2.70 crore at the domestic box office on its opening day.
Panga earned a gross revenue of ₹34.43 crore in domestic while ₹7.28 crore overseas, the film has a worldwide gross collection of ₹41.71 crore.
9. Thappad – ₹44.54 crore
Anubhav Sinha directorial THAPPAD was released on 6th of march 2020 with having Taapsee Pannu as the lead star cast. The film was well appreciated for its social message, screenplay, direction and performances.
Thappad was Produced with the budget of ₹24 crore, and made net revenue of ₹44.54 crore worldwide. Thappad earned ₹2.76 crore net at the domestic box office on its opening.
8. Jawaani Jaaneman – ₹44.7 crore
With Saif Ali khan and Alaya Furniturewala in the poster, Jawaani Jaaneman released 30th of January 2020. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the movie grossed net amount of ₹44.7 crore Worldwide. While it was made under budget of big ₹30 crores.
Story of 40 year old Jaswinder Singh “Jazz” earned ₹3.24 crore at the domestic box-office on its opening day. Debutant Alaya Furniturewala was well appreciated.
7. Love Aaj Kal – ₹52.63 crore
Another Love story starring by Kartik Aryan, LOVE AAJ KAL romantic drama film. Released on the date of Valentine, Love Aaj Kal grossed ne amount of ₹12 crore at the domestic box office on its opening day.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, it grossed net of ₹52.63 crore worldwide with a gross of ₹41.65 crore in India and ₹10.98 crore in overseas.
6. Chhapaak – ₹55.44 crore
Starring Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey, Chhapaak was released on 10th of Jan 2020. The movie was based on the real life story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Padukone was seen in the film after 2 years of her break from Bollywood after Padmaavat.
Chhapaak earned a grossing net of ₹40.57 crore in India and ₹14.87 crore overseas, the film grossed worldwide collection of ₹55.44 crore.
5. Malang – ₹84.50 crore
The list is incomplete without the blockbuster hit of the year MALANG. Starred by Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, it released on 7th of Feb 2020. Malang was well praised and supported by audience, it also captured attention on OTT platforms.
Malang collected a gross of ₹70.23 crore in India and ₹14.27 crore overseas, the film has a worldwide gross collection of ₹84.50 crore.
4. Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan – ₹86.3crore
A romantic comedy starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Jitendra kumar was released on 21 Feb 2020. Written and directed by Hitesh Kewalya, Film said the story of a gay man in relationship. It was the rule breaking story for the Indian Cinema which audience loved whole heartedly.
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan earned ₹9.5 crore net on its opening day, while grossing whooping 86.3 crore of total collection worldwide.
3. Street Dancer 3D – ₹97.0 crore
Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Street Dancer comes at the third place. Which was released on the date of 24th of Jan 2020. Directed by Remo, Film became a massive hit of the year with some India Pakistan touch.
Street Dancer 3D earned ₹9.50 crore at the domestic box office on its opening day and grossed about collection of ₹97.0 crore worldwide till date.
2. Baaghi 3 – ₹137 crore
Baaghi 3 comes here in the top two, The action thriller film starred by Tiger was released on 6th of March 2020. The films also adds Ritesh Deshmukh, Shraddha Kapoor and Ankita Lokhande as lead. This action packed movie of tiger was directed by Ahmed Khan.
On being made with the budget of 85 crore, Baaghi’s third part successfully made whooping amount of 137 crore worldwide.
1. Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior – ₹367.65 crore
Ajay Devgn Starrer Tanhaji makes it to the top of the list. Earning a whopping amount of ₹367.65 crore worldwide it became the highest grossing movie of the year. While in this tough time this movie was lucky to be released on the first month of the year. Releasing 10th of Jan, it also clashed with Deepika padukone’s Chhapaak.
Tanhaji grossed net of ₹15.10 crore at the domestic box office on its opening day. Winning the hearts of audiences and being lucky even in this tough year of Covid-19, the film had a worldwide gross collection of ₹367.65 crore and became the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2020 worldwide.
