Jackie Shroff to play the main villain in Rohit Shetty’s Ajay Devgn Starrer Singham 3
Fans are desperately waiting for Sooryavanshi, a titular film in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe. The highly anticipated film got stalled due to theatres being closed throughout the pandemic and the makers could not convince their business acumen to release it on OTT platform. The film, however, is expected to hit the theatres in the first quarter of 2021.
But amid this hiatus there is a big revelation coming in from our sources which can in fact accelerate the heartbeats of the biggest fans of this cop series. At a time when seasoned actors like Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, etc. are soaring high in their later innings by delivering breath-taking negative roles, Jackie Dada has joined the bandwagon to follow suit and the news itself is enough to set our expectations high for the fifth film of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe – Singham 3.
Rohit Shetty has planned a very smooth transition from Sooryavanshi to Singham 3. The climax of the former will lead to Singham 3 wherein Ajay Devgan will be back as the main protagonist. Our sources have revealed that the mastermind of the Mumbai Terror attacks in Sooryavanshi is not killed in the climax (which itself is a major spoiler) however all the other major negative leads are wiped off the soil of Mumbai. The main suspect however takes charge in the next instalment of the cop series where the tussle gets even bigger with the entry of a veteran, the great Jackie Shroff.
Well, fans must be wondering that Jackie Dada was noticed in the trailer of Sooryvanshi and was referred as Lashkar. But the catch is that he may be sharing less screen time in Sooryavanshi as the makers wanted to save him for a bigger script. And we do not mind as we definitely want more of him.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that Jackie Shroff will play a negative character. Bhagam Bhaag, Happy New Year, Mission Kashmir, Housefull 3 and Apna Sapna Money Money are the films in which he showed us his impeccable acting skills as a villain. We can never forget his portrayal of a terrorist in Mission Kashmir.
But, factually, his return as a supervillain in Singham 3 is the talk of the day because the franchise has become massively popular and given the kind of treatment Rohit Shetty gives to his films, it is going be an explosion on the big screen when biggies like Ajay Devgan and Jackie Shroof will tangle their arms and there will be high voltage drama onscreen.

If sources are to be believed, Rohit Shetty is done with the final draft of Singham 3, but owing to his prior engagements Singham 3 can see the day of the light only when he is free from wrapping up his other ambitious projects like Cirkus and Golmaal 4. But keeping in consideration the coveted continuity between Sooryavanshi and Singham 3, Rohit may have to work out some ways to align the projects as per his expectations. It is going to be quite interesting to see how it unfolds.
The trailer of Sooryavanshi gave us the full-fledged glimpse of a typical Bollywood high grosser movie that is intended to surpass the 100-crore mark. With seasoned entertainers and action heroes like Akshay Kumar, as Veer Sooryavanshi in the lead role pairing with the most elegant Katrina Kaif, also in the perfect camaraderie with Ajay Devgan and Ranveer Singh catapulted the curiosity of fans for the film like anything.
With Sooryavanshi expected by March 31, 2021 if shooting for Singham 3 does not go on the floors until the mid of the year, there could be quite a gap between these two fims and the makers, especially Rohit Shetty who would definitely be super concerned for his new baby “Singham 3” will have to look for an alternative path to keep the buzz fresh and alive.
But at a time when Bollywood is super obsessed with remakes, Rohit Shetty whose films are rather commercial than artistic deserves applause for creating a film franchise in Bollywood with the Golmaal Series and his action-packed cop universe – the Singham Series. His films may not come across as critically acclaimed but they become a cult and that keeps him among the leading directors of popular Bollywood cinema.
Rohit Shetty is truly among the busiest in-demand directors and he keeps himself involved with the world of television as well which obviously exposes him to audience in quite a better way. Over the years, not only through his films, but through the way he carries himself, he has built a reputation of a highly valued filmmaker whose movies mint crores and create a lot of buzz.
