Happy Birthday Salman Khan, Bhaijaan of Bollywood celebrating his 55th Birthday Bash today (27-12-2020). We have always been loved watching him on screen all the time. We all saw changing himself from PREM to swaggy Bhaijaan. In the career of non stop 30 years, Salman has done over 109 Bollywood films as lead.
Salman always loved playing character of Prem, as once being asked in an interview Khan said, “I will always choose Prem as my favorite among all the characters I played on screen.” So here we will be looking at the movies who named him PREM.
Sooraj Barjatya’s directorial debut was the first film of Salman Khan having the character name as PREM. Salman’s first film as lead made him won Filmfare Award for best male debut. Also made him nominated for the Filmfare’s best actor category.
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, this comedy drama film featured Amir as lead role too. Salman khan was named Prem Bhopali in 1994 released Andaz Apna Apna. The movie was having Raveena Tandon, Karishma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Shakti Kapoor as Star cast along with Salman and Amir.
Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994) – “Prem”
Again the film directed by Sooraj Barjatya was having the character name of Salman Khan as Prem. The film made Salman Nominated for the Best Actor category in Filmfare Awards. The film was the biggest grosser of that time with grossing ₹70 crore of revenue in its first twenty weeks.
Judwaa (1997) – “Prem Malhotra/Raja”
1997 Released Judwaa, was the action packed comedy film directed by David Dhawan. Salman was playing two characters with the name of Prem Malhotra and Raja. Salman played characters of two twin brothers which was very well appreciated by the fans all over the world that time.
Biwi No.1 (1999) – “Prem”
Starring Anil Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, Tabu, Sushmita Sen along with Salman, Biwi No. 1 was having Salman named as Prem too. The film again was directed by David Dhawan, was very well praised at the box office.
Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999) – “Prem”
Sooraj Barjatya’s multi-starrer was again having the name Prem for Salman Khan’s character. Starred with Sonali Bendre ,Tabu, Mohnish Bahl, Said ali khan and Karishma Kapoor, The film did the outstanding business over box office that time. The film was released 1999.
Chal Mere Bhai (2000) – “Prem Oberoi”
Again directed by David Dhawan, Salman had his favourite name for the character. Salman was names Prem Oberoi in this film released in 2000. Film was also starring Sanjay Dutt along with Karishma Kapoor. However this time the comedy film of David Dhawan with with Salman did not work well there in the box office.
Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye (2000) – “Prem Kapoor”
Year 2000 released romantic comedy film was starring Salman Khan with Rani Mukerji, Jackie Shroff, Pooja Batra, Raveena Tandon, Kashmira Shah, Mohnish Behl. The film was made remake of the 1998 comedy film “The Wedding Singer”. Salman was named Prem Kapoor.
No Entry (2005) – “Prem”
Anees Bazmee’s comedy film made Salman Khan appear as Prem again after five years of gap. The film made him nominated for the Best actor in comic role there in the Filmfares. The film was multistarrer having Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta, Esha Deol, Celina Jaitly in frame.
Partner (2007) – “Prem”
David Dhawan again named Salman Prem in his comedy drama film which was inspired by American drama film “Hitch”. Produced by Sohail Khan, the film was having stars like Govinda, Lara Dutta, Katrina Kaif along with Salman Khan.
Marigold (2007) – “Prem”
American director Willard Carroll created Marigold with the intention of bringing Indian and American cinema closer. The film was romantic musical comedy starring American actress Ali Larter. Total English language film Marigold, again named Salman as Prem.
Ready (2011) – “Prem Kapoor”
Action packed comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee again named Salman as Prem Kapoor. Presenting Asin and Salman for the first time at the screen, The film came got overwhelming response at the box office. Film collected ₹13 crores on its first day of business.
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Sooraj Barjatya’s romantic drama film having double for Salman Khan again named him as Prem on the screen. Salman played the characters of Prem Dilwale and Yuvraj Vijay Singh and made audience fall in love with him again. Film did absolutely amazing on the box office making ₹40 crores on its opening day in India. Film grossed whooping amount of ₹432 crores worldwide. This was Salman’s last film when he was seen playing character of Prem on the screen.
