FACTCHECKERS NOMINATED FOR NOBEL PEACE PRIZE 2021.
Trine Sky Grande nominated IFCN (International Fast-Checker network) for Nobel Peace Prize 2021 on twitter. Trine sky is a former leader of Norway Liberal party. And she tweeted “This year, I have nominated fact checkers for the Nobel Peace Prize. They need our support” it is a heating topic right now.
If you are unaware of what Fast checker is so let me give you a little idea and some information about them. The IFCN issues a certification to publishers who pass the audit. Their certification lasts for a year and then Fast checkers re-examine for the certification.
In this world full of fake news and fraud websites. Fast checkers works on them and labels them as “unreliable”. Ski being thankful of them for helping every one to know about the good websites and with the one with fake information. IFCN was stablished in 2015 in United States.
Supporter of Donald Trump who was US President attacked the US Congress because of liars who said Trump should be the winner but they were deceived in the president election. These fake news can be very dangerous and Fast Checkers stops such news by spreading.
There are 12 IFCN certified Factcheckers in India and boomlive.in with factchecker.in being the first to be certified factcheckers. Trine Sky Grande has announced then for nominee of Nobel peace and there is a way for someone being nominee and criteria’s they should be following.
Each year university professors, scientists, academic members, parliament members a nomination for his / her self will not be considered. The Nobel Prize community is a five person community appointed by parliament of Norway. The Nobel Prize nominee are considered from September month.
By March they gets short listed, by October Nobel laureates are voted and then confirms. By December the deserving and chosen laureates gets their prize in hand. So winning a prize is a long process. But even nominations for Nobel peace is also a great victory. Who knew one could be nominated and that too by former leader of a liberal party.
Being elected for Nobel peace is a victory in itself and fast checkers have got one right now. Only ski knows the reason she nominated them for Nobel peace but Fast checkers have also done some tremendous work which is worth an appreciation. It would be excited to see who wins the prize because there are more people who are elected for this prize like Donald Trump. Yes you heard right Trump has also been nominated for 2021 Nobel peace. It would be very interesting to see how it goes and who wins.
Trine Skei Grande has been a party leader of Norway since 2010 to 2020. She has also been worked as Minister of Education since January to March 2020, and also serve as Minister of Culture and Gender Equality since 2018 to 2020. She has been great in her political career and still working great.
Electing fast checkers for Nobel peace May b liked by some and some may not like it because of their personal thoughts. But fast checkers have been working great in defending us from liar websites and black listing them as fake. And if one is defending us from fake news so that riots doesn’t take place and no clash happens in between public then that is a great thing and should be appreciated because peace is all we want. Love is all we deserve and togherness is all we need to stay strong and live a happy life.
Fast checkers was organised in the year 2015 and since then it is working with full dedication and hard work in order to provide us quality information so that misconceptions, confusions, no wrong information would not spread anyhow. And that can save lives of many people. Today fast checkers have their branches in more than 50 countries and have verified signatories of around 79 people. So one can imagine how hard they are working to spread around the world and stop some very bad misconceptions to come in our society that pollutes the society and mind of people in it.
The coronavirusfactalliance has recently brought together 99 fast checking organizations from around 70 countries to check the fake news spreading and stop them from their main source so that there could be no misconception and misleads about corona virus.
By above paragraph one can have an idea what fast checkers do and why are they important in our lifes. And that is the reason why they are nominated for Nobel peace. They are also very thankful and happy to be nominated for Nobel peace as this is their reward of hard work. It is not sure who will win the prize but nomination of fast checkers can motivate them to work hard and efficient in upcoming time. Let us wait to see who wins the Nobel peace in 2021.
