Many of us aren’t aware that the 8th of October is been celebrated as the day of the Indian Air Force. In the year 1932 Indian Air Force was officially established and celebrated every year.
This day is celebrated for its foundation, but I think we should thank them every day for fighting to keep us safe in our homes, they risk their lives to protect the people. Risk is a small word every soldier keeps their life at stake without even caring, to keep other lives safe, and in order to keep the honor of the country.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) encompasses the force of faculty and aircraft, armed to protect the country’s airspace. IAF is in 4th rank among all over the air forces of the World.

At present, they have 139,576 active personnel, 140,000 reserve personnel Approx. 1,750+ Aircrafts.
It was established as the additional air army of the British Empire which praised India’s flying service during World War II with the prefix Royal. Later, when India attained freedom from the UK in 1947, the title Royal Indian Air Force was maintained and served in the name of Dominion of Indian. With the government’s evolution to a Republic in 1950, the prefix Royal was eliminated.
Since 1950 the IAF has been involved in four wars, other major operations undertaken by the IAF include Operation Vijay, Operation Meghdoot, Operation Cactus, and Operation Poomalai. The IAF’s goal broadens beyond the meeting with adverse forces, with the IAF contributing to the United Nations peacekeeping missions.
At present, the commander in Chief is, President Ram Nath Kovind, Chief of the air staff is, Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC, and the Vice Chief of the staff is, Air Marshal Harjit Singh Arora, AVSM, ADC.
They are serving us and the motherland selflessly, it is our duty to honor and respect our warriors. Let’s celebrate this day by thanking our IAF and acknowledge the worth, and we shouldn’t do this for the sake of formality. Be thankful to our soldiers each and every day of your life because they are fighting is the reason we are loving freely.
